About Two Oceans Cape Tours

Edward Martin completed the Two Oceans marathon in 1997 and as a result found inspiration to name his first company Two Oceans Consulting. 18 years later, Two Oceans Cape Tours was born allowing Edward to follow his dream of becoming a Tourist Guide. Two Oceans Cape Tours (Pty) LTD is a member of Cape Town Tourism and Cape Tourist Guides Association. We have the necessary Operating Licence; passenger liability insurance in place.

Meet Edward Martin:
The owner, and your friendly tourist guide

Edward Martin was “born and bred” in Cape Town. After 18 years of running his successful financial consulting company, Edward started Two Oceans Cape Tours with the objective to pass on his knowledge and passion for the Western Cape region to visitors, ensuring they have the opportunity to experience the best the Cape has to offer in safety and comfort, and to promote sustainable, environmentally friendly tourism with enthusiasm and in a way that connects with as many people as possible.

He says “the best part for me is seeing their expressions and amazing responses to the beautiful scenery and cultural diversity that I get to call home. It’s such a pleasure to share these moments and to know they will take special memories back home with them”.

His wish is for his guests to arrive as visitors and leave as friends

I can’t thank Ed Martin enough for making our trip to Cape Town and the tour of the Western Cape so memorable. From the luxurious BMW, well planned stop-offs for refreshments and photos, his intuitive selection of wonderful restaurants and hidden gems of beautiful accommodation, his inkling that we would prefer certain wineries!, his easy going and informative guides to the areas and an attention to detail we hadn’t expected all ensured that we had the most fantastic few days. Without Ed this would have just been another part of our trip to South Africa but it is now the most treasured memory of a fantastic few days. Thank you Mr Martin, you made our holiday! Superb private tour of the Cape Peninsula. Just the wife and me and Ed as our own personal tour guide and driver in a BMW. Lovely chap and really knows all there is to know about the area. Travel at your own pace and no problem adding other things to see. Would absolutely recommend.

I cannot thank Ed martin enough for looking after us so well during our 5 days in Cape Town. Not only did he meet us at the airport at midnight but he made all the arrangements for our stay including hotel bookings, tickets to all the major attractions and restaurant reservations which made our few days run so smoothly and we felt that we got the most out of our stay. Ed has a great knowledge of the area and passed it on in a very easy way which we enjoyed immensely. If you are looking for an in depth tour of the Cape Town area with 2 to 3 people, I can thoroughly recommend Ed martin and Two Oceans Cape Tours. We would not have seen half the sights we saw without him.

When one is not familiar with the "new" surroundings of a city/ province it is the best to make use of the best guide in town. This has happened to us! Edward responded to our tour enquiry very promptly and was very professional in all his correspondence with us. We thought that we were just going on a " normal" day tour but we were in for a good surprise. The day tour of Cape Town, and a wine farm tour, was one of our highlights of our stay in the Mother City. We were collected, on time, at our lodgings and were given a detailed overview what was planned for us. Edward's knowledge is incredible and he could give all the facts interwoven with beautiful stories.Driving skills are excellent and we felt save during the whole trip. Bonus points were the free Wi-fi and bottled water in the car. Extra bonus was the reservations at the restaurant. If you are short of time but want to see as much as possible, give Edward a call, sit back, take in the beauty and relax. More than highly recommended.

We found Ed's tour on Google, and are so pleased that we did. From our initial contact by email, through to booking and ultimately pick-up, it was all super easy and Ed literally did do all of the hard work for us!Ed offers a personalised and flexible itinerary to ensure your needs are met, so you receive so much more than just a generic tour. We visited Simonstown, Boulders Beach, Chapmans Peak and Cape Peninsular, before stopping off for sundowners at the Twelve Apostles Hotel. All were spectacular, and so much more rewarding when supported by Ed's unequalled knowledge of both the area and the history of South Africa. Ed's car was very comfortable and he was generous in sharing his wifi dongle with us, for live posting on social media! If you want something more than just a group tour, we would whole-heartedly recommend spending a day with Ed.

On a recent trip to South Africa we had the great pleasure of having Ed as our tour guide in beautiful Cape Town. Ed planned our trip with precision and seemed to instinctively know what we would like. He found us the most beautiful restaurant for our birthday lunch and knew exactly the right vineyards to take us to when we visited the gorgeous Cape Winelands region. We saw whales at Hermanus Bay and fabulous views from the top of Table Mountain and much, much more. Ed was able to advise on our accommodation and with his help we found the perfect place to stay. We would thoroughly recommend Ed's services, he made our trip very memorable and fun and we made a new friend in him.

Thank you Ed Martin, you made our trip to Cape Town very special. Well planned tours, a luxurious BMW with wifi, your helpfulness and attention to details made us enjoy our fantastic days in Cape Town. How lucky were we to find Ed Martin! Nothing was too much trouble for Ed from the very first email (I think about 30 in all!) to the final departure from Cape Town. He worked tirelessly before our arrival in beautiful Cape Town to put together a range of 'outings' which we 'tweeked' along the way. Very quickly, we felt as if we were being shown around by a good friend who really knew the places which would interest us. Nothing was too much trouble for this born and bred Capetonian who constantly checked with us that all was in order. It was wonderful to sit back in his spotless vehicle and enjoy the sights as well as the history of the places we visited. The Highlights - The Duck Parade at Verengoed Wine Estate, Table Mountain (of course) - Ed purchased the tickets and constantly monitored the website for queue and opening times, Cape of Good Hope and the magnificent scenery on the drive there and back, the Hidden Secrets Walking Tour, and the magnificent Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens - with our own private tour guide who kept us all (Ted, Ed and me) entertained with his humour and vast botanical knowledge. We would highly recommend Ed to anyone who is visiting Cape Town - his courtesy, professionalism, knowledge is ...
